Sugar cookies are categorized as a festive cookie in my books. There is something about baking soft sugar cookies that brings me into the holiday mood. This recipe is so easy and fool-proof. Best of all, you don’t need to chill it in the fridge at all!
Ingredients
▢ 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
▢ 1 tsp baking soda
▢ 1/2 tsp baking powder
▢ 1/2 tsp salt
▢ 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
▢ 1 cup granulated sugar + extra for tossing
▢ 2 tbsp light brown sugar
▢ 2 eggs
▢ 2 tsp vanilla extract
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine dry ingredients (except for sugars) and set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars together (2-3 minutes).
- Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Add dry ingredients a third at a time, mixing well each time.
- Scoop dough and toss in a bowl of granulated sugar.
- Bake for 8-9 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
If you don’t count the preheating and baking steps, this cookie comes together in 5 steps. It truly is one of the easiest cookies I’ve ever made.
